NVCI Awarded Grant to Further Research

December 21, 2007 – The National Institute of Health has awarded a RO1 grant to Dr. Yupo Ma, chief of Hematopathology for the Nevada Cancer Institute, to fund the model of myelodysplastic syndrome progression and leukemic stem cells through various scientific techniques. This competitive grant, which totals nearly $2 million, will fund five years of research on these hematological conditions.
