Who are we?
The Information & Resource Center* supports the Institute’s mission by providing patients, families and visitors access to consumer health information in print, electronic and audio-visual formats.
Where are we located?
The Information and Resource Center is located in the lobby directly across from the main elevators. Hours: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm Mon-Fri
* The Information & Resource Center is an affiliate member of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine.
What types of materials do we offer?
What are the checkout policies?
Library cards are required for anyone wishing to check out materials. Library cards are available free of charge to all patients, their families and friends, as well as NVCI staff and volunteers. The only requirements are that you fill out a brief registration form and agree to adhere to the following policies:
- Two books may be checked out at a time.
- Two CDs and one DVD may be checked out at a time.
- Checkout is for two weeks with one renewal allowed, except DVDs.
- DVDs may be checked out for one week with no renewal.
- Reference materials are not available for checkout. Photocopies are available upon request.
- In the event the borrowed materials are lost or damaged, borrower is responsible for the replacement cost.
Computer Terminals Are Available in the Resource Center.
Computers offering Internet access are available to patients and family members. The Resource Service Coordinator and IRC volunteers are available to assist you with research during business hours. For your convenience, a printer is also available.
